My class spent the day in the covered courts. School buildings are being demolished so that new classrooms can be constructed in response to the projected increase in student population. Most of our classes are held simultaneously in the covered courts these days.
When I think about our situation, I reflect on how I can maximize learning in a makeshift set-up such as this. I am bothered by the fact that most of my students may be missing out a detail, a topic, or a whole day’s worth of learning because I am or we have half-empty perspectives. Uncontrollable environments lead to distractions.
My students, on the other hand, see this as an opportunity to explore their surroundings more. They continue to come to school. And they are continue to look forward to tomorrow’s activities.
I am holding on to these little sparks of hope. ?#?SearchingForAnswers? ?#?RememberingMyWhy?
