July 2014—Education equity has brought together two organizations from different continents. For the next three weeks, 11 Loyola Marymount University (LMU) students and their Professor, Dr. Edmundo Litton, join Teach for the Philippines in experiencing the local context and understanding the Philippine educational system. Moreover, the LMU team’s diverse experience in Learning Differences and Urban Education will allow for the exchange of best practices.
By way of background, in mid-2012, Professor Edmundo Litton of LMU’s School of Education reached out to the organization with an intriguing proposal. Given our shared vision, why not collaborate and expand horizons? With the support of the LMU’s team, under the leadership of Dean Shane Martin, this big dream is now real.
