Teach for the Philippines partners with Globe Telecom to deliver a professional development program for learners and educators nationwide. The “Global Filipino Teacher Series: Professional Development Program” is a webinar series that promotes 21st century learning and helps public school teachers maximize their digital resources. The first set of webinars were held last October 27-29 together with the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) and Habi Education Lab.
The three-day event was hosted by NEAP, while the first two session dates were facilitated by 2016 Alumna Fellow Julie Pizarro-Espiritu. The sessions covered topics on developing Early Language Literacy and improving Parent Engagement, as well as an Open Forum where the NEAP hosts and our Alumna Training Facilitator answered questions from the DepEd Teacher attendees. Helping teachers to apply suggested techniques and approaches for teaching reading as well as to create an operational plan for home-school partnership, all in the context of distance learning.
Together with Globe Telecom, TFP seeks to support the Department of Education’s (DepEd) thrust to ensure learning continuity among public school students by equipping teachers and school leaders with necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes to overcome challenges brought by the global pandemic. The Global Filipino Teachers webinar series will continue during the month of November and is open to all teaching and non-teaching staff of DepEd covering the National Office, Regional Offices, Division Offices, and public schools in the country. The webinars will be streamed via the Globe Bridging Communities Facebook Page and shared on DepEd Philippines’ page.
