It’s the first day of school and I told my students, “Ako si Teacher Julio. Nagmula rin ako sa public school. Pinalaki ako ng aking mga magulang na araw-araw na nagpapayo na mag-aral nang mabuti dahil ito ang paraan para magkaroon ako ng magandang kinabukasan. Ngayon graduate na ako. Kung kaya ko, kaya niyo rin.”
As their teacher, I want to see them dream big and work hard. I want them to believe in themselves that they can do it. I want to see these children rise from the ranks. I want to see another Julio born inside my classroom. I will do all that I can to make that happen.
I am Teacher Julio, I teach for the Philippines.
